Love the Chevy Chase ending!

“In closing, bite me, you ridiculous, ego-soaked, apartheid emerald-suckling, union-busting, algorithmically inflated, toddler-brained, wealth-hoarding, democracy-loathing, sci-fi villain reject of a human being.”

This is a great idea, and flooding the zone with shit sounds like a great way to show a little solidarity and make a bunch of assholes lives a little more annoying.

Patiently waiting for you to colonise Mars and stay there.... Hilarious!

It's clear what Elon's vision for our world is from his creations ... Not a world I want to live in... Sadly I think he will only go to Mars once his AI machines and trans humans have destroyed humanity and life as we know it on this planet. It's his escape plan!

How much is 400 billion worth on Mars I wonder? 🤔

This was the best thing I’ve read all week. Really needed that laugh. And I did email HR at OPM as well.

Save a little pity for Mars. Just like Earth, Mars does not deserve Musk.

This is the kind of letter that should be framed and hung in every workplace. Hysterical, sharp, and painfully accurate. Here’s to independent thought and well-placed sarcasm. 🥂

Ah, what a wonderful idea! You may include my solidarity contribution from Germany 😁:

Dear DOGE,

I think you should know what all the people in the world did, not only US federal workers 🥳💃🏼 ( after all, isn't it all about world domination?).

Firstly, there are the German Witches Association sisters, who danced an anti-election interference minuet outdoors on Saturday night, invoking the power of the moon goddess and of the Mars warrior spirit. With a little help from the elves🧚, the ceremony then culminated in a "thou shall not pass"! defense magic.

I also want to let you know that I extend my last week offer for lonely billionaires in dire need of admiration and all-time veneration who may receive a love and self-care potion from the Holy Witches Association anytime at the price of 44 billion 💵 that have to be paid into the Robin Hood fund for federal workers.

Rainbow greetings from the land of the runes

So, I have been asking a question of any federal worker I have interacted with online and multiple reporters covering the OPM shenanigans, but nobody has given me an answer. If we were in any other timeline/parallel universe I would say I know this sounds crazy, but given everything that has happened in just over a month I feel like this is actually on the milder side of "crazy." So I'm sorry, but I am asking if again now if anyone has any answers.

Is there any chance the acting head of OPM, Charles Ezell, is just a made up name created by Musk to avoid taking responsibility for the things he's doing in government? A judge recently ruled Musk cannot be sued by federal employees because he is not a government employee, and he himself has not fired any employees. All firings have been conducted by department of agency heads (like Ezell).

1. Other than his linkedin page which doesn't actually include a picture, I can't find online activity for Ezell before the administration took over. I've read he was a mid-level branch manager before he was named acting head, but even the person that Musk recently installed in SSA (Dudek) to do his dirty work for him has some online history prior to being a position for showing loyalty to Musk. I cannot find a single picture of Charles Ezell, which seems weird because he has been named in lawsuits and by Democratic senators trying to hold him accountable

2. The emails from Ezell are all memos sent through OPM, but these are the same memos that allegedly contained metadata with memo author names still included. These were names of individuals linked to project 2025. These memos started being sent after Musk was refused a direct line of contact to government employees by a career federal employee. Instead Musk had a server installed at OPM (potentially violating security rules, I think that's another ongoing lawsuit that his people are OPM have tried to argue wasn't a violation, but lawyers have argued otherwise).

3. During a conference call I believe on February 13th, Ezell let hundreds of probationary federal employees know during a conference call that they were being laid off. These were the same employees targeted by some of the earliest Ezell memos. The weirdest thing to me is that he didn't actually join the call to break the news. A pre-recorded message of Ezell telling employees they were laid off was played during the call. That is weird, right?

If your conjecture is true, then it’s a massive fraud upon the public.

If only the Justice Department and the FBI weren’t lead by Trump sycophants.

I have no idea if it’s true. One explanation is the guy is keeping a low profile to keep from being killed. I would be a touch worried about that, pissing off the entire federal workforce every day. But that’s just me. It is an alternative (non tin foily hat) explanation v. he’s a made up alter ego for Musk.

I have no idea. I have been hoping somebody would just respond with "that's insane and here's why," but this is the first response I have gotten about this question. Like I said, it is odd that there seems to be nothing on the internet other than his linkedin page before 2025.

Even people that don't use social media seem to have some trace of themselves online (mentions in obituaries for relatives, those pages that will say this person is related to this person).

It just seems odd to me, but the most reasonable explanation would be an act of protection. It does seem like he would be the person held accountable for firing employees on behalf of Musk. The weirdest thing is that I don't get why anyone would use a pre-recorded message to fire hundreds of employees over a conference call.

Here is a post of federal workers discussing Ezell and the memos if anyone is interested: https://www.reddit.com/r/fednews/s/kjyVh4elwE

Entirely possible, but proving it may be difficult. 🤔

Expand full comment

Oh for sure and if anyone's going to prove it, it is not going to be me.

I just find it bizarre and frustrating because so much of what is happening boils down to individuals carrying out the orders being given because they mistakenly believe if the president tells you to do something, you can safely assume you're legally protected when you do it. Holding individuals accountable and publicly reporting on consequences they face is going to be one of the easiest ways to prevent others from continuing to carry out their agenda for them.

There's a reason Elon Musk's lawyers make statements in court stating that Musk did not personally access data or fire anyone. This may be true. He didn't but somebody did it for him. Ezell is responsible for the firings, and those DOGE kids (specifically Marko Elez) are being named in court evidence.

Musk didn't just magically gain access to the Treasury department. He was never granted access because he couldn't get security clearance. Secretary Treasurer Scott Bessent received clearance and then gave Musk his own access. Now he's being sued in multiple lawsuits, and the watchdog Trump was hoping the Supreme Court would allow him to fire is investigating Bessent and how that access was used. A career employee tried to tell them what they wanted to do wasn't ok and they ignored him, so he resigned. Not because he was intimidated, because he knows what those DOGE kids don't. Your boss may be untouchable, but you're not, so CYA. If you help commit a crime or you're aware a crime is being committed under your watch, you can be held liable.

If you went by the headlines when this was first happening though, you would have just assumed Elon Musk Waltzed in and everyone timidly scurried away in fear as he used his mighty power and "took over the Treasury department."

I believe those affidavits are truthful in text but perfidious in insinuating the conclusions. I believe Musk is an agent-in-fact. The affidavits are a giveaway of that fact. They talk exclusively about de jure versus de facto acts. They expect the judge to be an idiot.

Expand full comment

I'm an idiot but I know regardless somebody has to be held accountable, and Musk has his lawyers pointing the blame somewhere other than him. That's the only reason I care about Charles Ezell. Somebody has to face some kind of public consequences for anything to change.
